- Ian Levy, newly elected Conservative MP for Blyth Valley, stated across social media during the election campaign “I have worked for 30 years as a mental health nurse with the NHS so have a good understanding of the problems involving the local community” and “As an NHS nurse myself, I am immensely proud of the investment by our Conservative Government”. He is not on any part of the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) register. He is not a registered nurse. 13/12/2019
- In the ITV Leaders’ Debate, and in many other appearances, Boris Johnson pledged when challenged about selling off the NHS “This is an absolute invention. It is completely untrue. Under no circumstances whatever will this government, or any Conservative government, put the NHS on the table in any trade negotiation. Our NHS will never be for sale. We will continue to fund the NHS massively, as we are.” Despite the pre-election funding pledge already being shown not to contain any new or additional funding, the country was assured the NHS was not at risk.
